Piercing Regulations & Age Requirements

Here you will find all information regarding the age requirements for getting a piercing.

Age Requirements & Consent

For piercings, we follow both the legal age requirements and our own studio guidelines. These guidelines are in place to ensure that a piercing is appropriate for the client’s age, anatomical development, and ability to heal safely.

6 and up

With the consent of a parent or legal guardian:

  • Earlobe piercings

12 and up

With the consent of a parent or legal guardian:

  • All ear piercings
  • Nose piercings
  • Navel piercings

14 and up

With the consent of a parent or legal guardian:

  • Tongue piercings
  • Lip piercings
  • Eyebrow piercings

16 and up

From the age of 16, the above piercings may be performed without parental consent.

A valid form of identification remains mandatory.

18 and up

Only upon presentation of a valid form of identification:

  • Nipple piercings
  • Genital piercings

Consent form

A consent form must be completed prior to every piercing procedure.

This form is provided digitally in the studio and must be completed in full before the procedure can take place. You will also receive a copy for your records.

Valid Identification Required

A valid form of identification must be presented at every appointment, regardless of age.

We accept the following forms of identification:

  • Passport
  • European ID card
  • Drivers license

When parental consent is required, the accompanying parent or legal guardian must also present a valid form of identification.

Legal representation

When parental or legal guardian consent is required, that person must be present at the appointment.

We cannot accept consent provided by phone, messaging apps, email, or written statements that cannot be verified in person during the appointment.

To verify the identity and authority of the accompanying parent or legal guardian, additional verification may be requested.

Circumstances Under Which We May Refuse a Piercing Procedure

The safety of our clients is always our highest priority. For this reason, we reserve the right to refuse a piercing procedure if we believe that proceeding would not be safe or appropriate.

This can be when:

  • Suspected alcohol or drug use prior to the appointment.
  • Pregnancy or breast feeding
  • Unsuitable anatomy for the desired piercing
  • Medical conditions which interfere with the treatment or healing
  • Not being able to show valid ID
  • Missing parental consent
  • Unrealistic expectations of the result or healing

Every anatomy is unique. Therefore, prior to every piercing, we assess whether the desired placement is safe, appropriate, and sustainable in the long term.

If, based on your anatomy or health, a piercing cannot be performed safely and responsibly, we will always explain this honestly and, where possible, recommend a suitable alternative.
